On 17th November 2013 an awareness programme was organised by Buddha Tharkapu Kalaigal Mayyam at Padappai. Mr. Padappai Madan, chief trainer of Tharkapu Kalaigal Mayyam the invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness program for the people of Padappai. Mr. Jeyabal M, Transplant Co-ordinator represented MOHAN Foundation for the session on Organ Donation.
100 members from that village attended the programme which was held in a local government school. It was a joint programme for both Blood and Organ donation.
Padappai councillor Mr. Illangovan and Panchayat President Mr. Padappai Mari addressed the gathering. Their speech focused on blood and organ donation. After their speeches, Mr. Jeyabal M, Transplant Co-ordinator delivered the session on organ donation and interacted with the people. He explained the Organ donation, difference between the brain death and coma, Eye donation, what are organs can be donated and the importance of Donor card.
52 members were picked the Donor card and information brochures.
