MOHAN Foundation Invited to Coventry University India Hub Launch Event

  • On December 3, 2024, Coventry University Group marked the launch of its India Hub with a special event titled “Creating Better Futures” at the British Council in New Delhi. The hub, strategically located opposite the British Council, aims to enhance the university's admissions, recruitment, and partnerships portfolio in India and the wider region. Senior leaders, including Vice-Chancellor and Group CEO Professor John Latham CBE, were joined by Indian and UK government officials, academics, and representatives from partner organizations to celebrate the occasion. MOHAN Foundation, represented by Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director-NCR, and Dr. Muneet Kaur Sahi, Program Manager, attended the event, reflecting its recent strategic collaboration with Coventry University.

     

    The India Hub underscores Coventry University’s commitment to strengthening partnerships in education, research, and industry. It will serve as a key platform for advancing collaborations in sectors such as healthcare and aviation while supporting initiatives aligned with India’s national priorities. The hub features a thoughtfully designed space blending Indian cultural elements with Coventry University Group’s branding, created by the university’s interior architecture students. The event highlighted the university’s robust ties with Indian institutions like IIT Ropar, Vellore Institute of Technology, and MOHAN Foundation, along with collaborations with tech organizations and thousands of Indian students on its UK campuses.

     

    The launch included a lamp-lighting ceremony by dignitaries such as Prof. John Latham, Prof. Richard Wells (Deputy Vice Chancellor-International), and Mr. Michael Houlgate (Deputy Director, British Council India). The Chief Guest, Dr. B. Chandrasekar, Executive Director of EdCIL India Limited, emphasized the importance of fostering educational ties. A panel discussion followed, featuring Prof. Richard Dashwood (Deputy Vice Chancellor-Research), Ms. Sukanya Kumar (Director, UK Research & Innovation India), Mr. Kuldeep Dagar (Deputy Secretary, Association of Indian Universities), Prof. Hazel Siromoni (Pro-Vice Chancellor, Chitkara University), and Dr. Santosh Kumar Vipparthi (Associate Professor, IIT Ropar). Moderated by Ms. Sandeepa Sahay, Regional Head of Insight & Engagement at the British Council India, the discussion explored themes of research, collaboration, and innovation.

     

    In closing, Ms. Leena Kukreja, Regional Managing Director of Coventry University Group’s India Hub, delivered the vote of thanks. She remarked, “This is a special day for Coventry University Group, marking our deep and enduring commitment to building and expanding meaningful partnerships with India’s industry, academia, and government. By aligning our strategic initiatives with India’s national priorities, we aim to drive measurable global impact for decades to come.”
