MOHAN Foundation Hosts Organ Donation Awareness Session for NCC Unit at Moru Narayan Junior College, Khar Koper, Navi Mumbai

  • On October 4, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an enlightening awareness session on organ donation for the NCC students of Moru Narayan Junior College in Khar Koper, Navi Mumbai. The primary objective of the session was to raise awareness about organ donation, address prevalent myths and misconceptions, and encourage individuals, particularly college students, to consider organ donation after death. The session proved to be an eye-opener for many attendees, igniting a strong interest among them to become volunteers and support this noble cause.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi, Public Education Counsellor at MOHAN Foundation, led the session at the NCC Unit campsite. Through a comprehensive talk and presentation, she addressed various challenges, fears, and misconceptions surrounding organ donation. Her discussion covered several key topics, including:

    • Highlighting the importance of both living and deceased donation.
    • Addressing common fears and misinformation related to organ donation.
    • Providing clarity on how organ donation works, from consent to transplantation.
    • Encouraging participants to get involved in spreading awareness and supporting organ donation efforts.

    The session was attended by 60 enthusiastic NCC students, all of whom pledged to support the cause after the session. Their strong interest in volunteering and advocating for organ donation was evident. MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to Principal Mrs. Pranita Bhole for inviting them to the campsite and for her support of this crucial initiative.

    The event successfully inspired a new wave of advocates for organ donation, underscoring the importance of education and community engagement in saving lives.
