On 12th September 2016, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the secretary, Red Cross – Punjab, Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk for their first aid students at Vivekanand Bhawan, Chandigarh. Around 48 Students from Various parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, College Students, Patient Care Attendants and Home Nursing participated in the session.
Students were given an introduction and presentation on Organ Donation and Brain Death by Deepika Arora. In this talk she explained what is Organ Donation, Value of Donor card, Different between cardiac and Brain Death, Causes of Brain death, Myths related to Organ Donation, MOHAN foundation Mission and vision.
It was a very interactive session. The discussion after the talk was on causes of liver and kidney failure. 20 Participants took the donor card.
