MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at KARTAR AASRA - Old Age Home, Sector-1, Chandigarh

  • On 1st February 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Baljeet Singh, Manager to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation at KARTAR AASRA - Old Age Home, Sector-1, Chandigarh.

    Participants were given an introduction on organ donation and brain death and response to their queries by Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch.

    She explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of organ donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
    • He challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on organ donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants and how they became a legacy
    • Importance of Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation website
    • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

    The Participants got motivated and it was an interactive session. The awareness talk was ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Baljeet Singh, and would like to do more programs with MOHAN Foundation.
