  • Event Duration: January 30 – February 3, 2025

    Venue: Jaipur Literature Festival, Jaipur

The MOHAN Foundation Jaipur Citizen Forum (MFJCF) actively participated in the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) 2025, setting up an awareness stall from January 30 to February 3, 2025. The initiative aimed to educate the public on the importance of organ donation, dispel myths, and encourage pledges from festival attendees.

    Engagement and Activities

Throughout the five-day event, MFJCF representatives engaged with a diverse audience, including literature enthusiasts, students, professionals, and dignitaries. The team worked tirelessly to address concerns, clarify misconceptions, and provide accurate information about organ donation and transplantation.

One of the key highlights of the initiative was the unique collaboration with India Post. A special letterbox was placed at the stall, allowing visitors to write messages to their families and friends about their decision to support organ donation. This innovative approach aimed to encourage open discussions within families, which is often a major barrier to successful organ donation at critical moments.

    Participation and Impact

The response to the MFJCF stall was overwhelming, with over 1,500 attendees pledging to donate their organs. Many visitors were seen holding placards with messages such as “Yes, I support organ donation,” reinforcing the growing acceptance and enthusiasm for this noble cause.

During the festival, a striking display emphasized a crucial statistic: “Did you know 95% of organ donations come from rural areas? It's time for us to reflect.” This message resonated deeply with attendees, particularly as JLF provided an opportunity to reach urban and elite populations, broadening the scope of awareness efforts.
