On December 5, 2020, the Rotary Club of Cantonment Secunderabad of Rotary Dist. 3150, Andhra Pradesh launched their organ donation awareness program in association with MOHAN Foundation. The two organisations have recently signed an MOU to jointly undertake awareness initiatives on organ donation.
The launch event was initiated by Mr. Mohan Nishtala, Member, Rotary Club of Cantonment Secunderabad. Mr. Nishtala is very passionate about the life saving cause of organ donation as he himself (along with his children) took the decision to donate his late wife, Mrs. Lakshmi Nishtala’s organs to give a second chance to others to live.
Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation, Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director, MOHAN Foundation and Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director, MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR, were invited as Guests of Honour.
Rotary Club of Secunderabad Sunrise (RCSS) was chartered in December 2001. The club is one of the younger clubs in District 3150 with the members in the average age of 45 years. RCSS symbolizes the values of togetherness and fellowship, and these virtues have made the members stand up and be counted at all times of need.
DGE Rtn. K. Prabhakar, DGN Rtn. T. Rajasekhar, Rtn. Ramakrishna Vemuri, President, Rtn. Malathi Raaj, Director, Community Service, Rtn. Lavanya Dyapa, Secretary of RID 3150, was among the chief attendees of the launch event.
