On May 21, 2022, MOHAN Foundation and its Patient Support Group- TRIOMPH (Transplant Recipients of India and Organ failure patients – a Movement to Provide Hope) conducted an interactive webinar on “Kidney Transplant- A Gift of Life”. This Patient Education Programme is supported by SBI Foundation and Sanofi.
Mr Sudhir Dewan conducted a virtual workshop in Punjabi, for dialysis patients, caregivers and dialysis technicians along with NephroPlus Dialysis Centres in Chandigarh.
Mr. Sudhir began by introducing MOHAN Foundation and TRIOMPH - patient support group. He then discussed the various challenges faced by the dialysis patients and shared that there was an opportunity for the patients to lead a normal, good quality life - through kidney transplant. Thereafter, He shared information on -
Lastly he shared about the quality of life after a transplant and introduced Ms. Sukhwinder Kaur - a Kidney Recipient. Ms. Sukhwinder kaur shared that after being on dialysis for 6 years, she finally got a cadaveric kidney transplant done in Mumbai in 2012. Post transplant, she motivated herself to break many mental and physical barriers through running many marathons including Half & Full marathon, and cycling. She pushed herself to climb 40 floors during COVID times, took up running and walking challenges as well. She is also learning music, dilruba instrument & harmonium and has won medals in the same. She shared that she is now living her life very happily and freely.
