Information stall on organ donation at one of the largest gathering of Buddhists in Nagpur

  • Thousands of Buddhist devotees come to Nagpur to pay obeisance to the architect of Indian Constitution, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar at Deekshabhoomi on the 60th anniversary of  Dhama Chakara Parivartan day on 11th October  2016. The Deputy Director Health Services Department invited MOHAN Foundation to set Organ Donation information stall at Campus area of Deekshabhoomi. The information was for followers and for those who came  to visit the Deekshbhoomi.

     

    Mr. Manekar arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and  banner. Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde Transplant coordinators managed the stall.

    Information given to general public - Who can donate organs and value of a donor card; organ and tissue donation after Brain Death and after Natural Death;  priority list of patient  waiting for organ;  MOHAN Foundation activities and helpline number & Website as information source.

    30 visitors visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 20 people took consent form & 10 people signed consent form and took donor card, other will signed consent form after discuss with their family.
