On 17 September 2016, Dr. Murthy of the Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL), Seminary Hill, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to arrange an Organ Donation information desk at their training hall.
Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur Center motivated the staff to sign consent form for organ donation. Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator gave information with help of an Information Brochure. Donor Cards & Pledge forms were also kept in the stall.
He gave the following information to the visitors:
Organ and tissue donation
Difference between Natural death & Brain death and what donations are possible
Whom to contact for Organ Donation
Role of ZTCC in organ donation
MOHAN Foundation activities and information sources (website and helpline number)
Visitors asked some question to clarify their doubt.
1) If I sign the consent form how will MOHAN Foundation you know about my death?
2) Whom to contact for organ donation?
3) Which organs can be transplanted in Nagpur?
20 MECL staff visited the stall, and 3 signed the consent form and took a donor card.
