On 8th March 2019, MOHAN Foundation set up an information desk on Organ Donation for the students and faculty of the Madras Medical Mission College of Health Sciences, a unit of Madras Medical Mission Hospital, Mogappair Chennai. The desk was set up at the college premises as a part of Women’s Day celebrations. Mr. George Cherian, Director-Administrator, Madras Medical Mission Hospital was the Chief Guest at the event. The students had organized a few entertainment activities.
Information brochures, registration forms, donor cards and green ribbons were available at the desk. Around 130 students and 10 faculties visited the stall. Ms. Ishwarya from MOHAN Foundation, Mr. Albin Joseph and Ms. Sunisha S.S, Interns at the Foundation and students of MMM College of Health Sciences were present at the stall to respond to queries and accept pledges of the visitors.
Mr. Albin Joseph and Ms. Sunisha S.S explained the concepts of organ donation to desk visitors. These interactions helped people understand organ donation clearly. 30 students and faculty registered their names as organ donors and received donor cards.
