Updated on Tuesday, August 6, 2019
  • On 4th August 2019, the ‘Diabetes in Women Worldwide, Awareness Advocacy Action Strategies (DIWWAAAS) team had organised a seminar on Women and Diabetes at the Anna Centenary Library Auditorium, Chennai. MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to set up an information desk for the delegates during the event.

Mr. T.S. Sivashankar and Dr. Hemal Kanvinde manned the information desk during the morning and evening sessions respectively.

The discussion points at the desk were:

    • Can a diabetic donate organs?
    • Are wearing spectacles and cataract surgery a hindrance to eye donation?
    • How can my family contact MOHAN Foundation to fulfill my wish?
    • Do poor people get organs?

Many such queries were answered. Around 50 people had visited the stall and picked information brochures, discussed organ donation and 25 people pledged to donate their organs.

MOHAN Foundation thanks Mrs. Nimmi Chellappa and Dr. Usha Sriram of DIWWAAAS for this opportunity.
