Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in his training hall on 5 January 2018.This was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license and was conducted in the waiting hall of the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:
v What is Organ Donation and the Law
v Who can donate organs
v Type of organ donation
v Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma
v Myths related to Organ donation
v Deceased donation cases in Nagpur
v Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website
It was a very interactive session. 28 drivers were present at the talk. 3 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.
