Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in his training hall on 18 May 2018. This was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.
Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:
v What is Organ Donation and the Law
v Who can donate organ & Types of organ donation
v The difference between Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma
v Myths related to Organ donation
v Deceased donation case in Nagpur & Kidney transplant hospitals in Nagpur
v Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website
It was a very interactive session. 38 drivers were present at the talk. 5 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.
