Dr. Sunil Shroff, Managing Trustee of MOHAN Foundation was conferred the Vocational Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award by Rotary Club of Bombay Seaface for his pioneering work in the field of organ donation on May 22, 2021. These awards were for the Rotary year 2020-21.
Rotary Club of Bombay Seaface on 22nd May 2021 held an online Award ceremony for its Vocational Excellence Awards for the Rotary year 2020-21. The event was kickstarted by the club president Mr. Nirmal Doshi and the Convener for the event was Mr. Manishi Vora. The awards were presented by District Governor Rotary Club Mr. Sunnil Mehra.
A total of four awards were conferred in this event which was attended by almost 88 invitees. The awards were: The start-up award awarded to Dr. Geetha Manjunath, Covid Warrier Award awarded to Dr. Neeta Warty and Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala and the Lifetime Achievement Award awarded to Dr. Sunil Shroff. The awardees were selected upon the basic principles of excellence in their vocation while maintaining high ethical standards as well as their contribution to the society.
While addressing the gathering Dr. Shroff explained the importance of organ donation, and the impact of a community effort to scale up organ donation rates in India. He also stressed upon the myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation and appealed to Rotary Club of Bombay Seaface to join hands to promote the cause of organ donation.
