DICG, ISN, and NATCO Organize a Roundtable on Access, Justice & Autonomy in Transplantation

  • On February 9, 2025, a roundtable discussion titled “Ensuring Access, Justice & Autonomy in Transplantation in India: Voices from the Ground” was held during the World Congress of Nephrology. This event was co-organized by the Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group (DICG), the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), and the Network and Alliance of Transplant Coordinators (NATCO) at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre), Dwarka, New Delhi.

     

    The roundtable focused on key challenges related to access and autonomy in India's transplant landscape, with the following objectives:

    1. Amplify grassroots perspectives and encourage meaningful discussions.

    2. Draw insights from successful health sector initiatives.

    3. Document key takeaways and promote broader advocacy efforts.

    4. Lay the groundwork for a long-term coalition advocating for inclusive and equitable transplantation in India.

     

    The event brought together approximately 70 participants, including transplant coordinators, transplant clinicians, and NGO representatives, facilitating a rich exchange of ideas and experiences.
