On 7th April 2022, an awareness programme was held for 136 constables at Regimental Centre, Avadi. Mr Mariappan, Ms Jansi Robert, Ms Kalaiselvi and Ms Archana, Sub-Inspectors from Regimental Centre, Avadi participated in the awareness programme. Dr Hemal Kanvinde, Quality Assurance Officer, Mr Ganesh, Marketing Coordinator and Ms Preetha Baskar, Project Executive from MOHAN Foundation conducted the sessions.
To start with a video showing the importance of Organ Donation was played. This was followed by a talk on Concepts of Organ Donation by Mr Ganesh. He explained the concepts, myths, facts, statistics, and the importance of donor cards and the process for pledging organs. It was an interactive session.

An inspiring video of a heart transplant recipient was screened to emphasize how a person’s life has changed because of someone’s decision.
The last session was conducted by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde. She elucidated the role of police in the brain stem death case. A clear explanation was given about the legal forms and the process to be carried out when a hospital calls the police to the inquest on a brain stem death case. The importance of forensic doctor in an MLC - Organ Donation was explained.
