A CME on “Deceased Organ Donation and Transplantation” was conducted at the Justice K.S Hegde Charitable Hospital, Mangalore on 10th December 2016". The CME was organized by the Department of Nephrology, Justice K.S Hegde Charitable Hospital with the aim of sensitizing doctors, nurses and students (medical and paramedical) on the various aspects of organ donation and transplantation - medical, legal and counseling. This initiative was supported by MOHAN Foundation and Zonal Coordination Committee of Karnataka for Transplantation (ZCCK).
The inaugural function was graced by Prof. (Dr.) M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte University. Dr. B. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean, K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), Dr. P. S. Prakash, Vice Dean & Head, Dept. of Medicine, KSHEMA, Major (Dr) Shivakumar Hiremath, Medical Superintendent, KS Hegde Hospital were also present during the inauguration.
