Updated on Saturday, July 13, 2024
  • A group of 15 professionals from social services sat together to understand their emotions through a workshop called the Brushstrokes of Emotion.  Mrs Lavanya Krishnakumar, an Art based therapist, facilitated the session.  This was conducted at the Chennai office on MOHAN Foundation on July 12, 2024 at 4 pm

She introduced the concept of Art based therapy, the way we can enable ourselves to express ourselves in many different ways.  She introduced the basis of Brushstrokes with Emotion and its importance. This was the first session in Chennai and she was excited to start with a group of professionals that work in healthcare.

Every participant was given a set of colours and a canvas to draw and paint what they like. This session was for 45 minutes.  At the end of this session, the participants were asked to check their artwork and write a few emotions that they feel about their painting.  The same artwork was passed on to see what the others felt about the painting.  After sharing the thoughts, Mrs Lavanya introduced the coloured circle of emotions to the participants. She requested the participants to check their painting with the chart and write down what comes to their minds.

A few participants gave their feedback to the session.  MOHAN Foundation thanks Mrs Lavanya Krishnakumar for her effort and time to conduct the art based session.
