MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk on Organ Donation for the staff of Cloudnine Hospital in OMR, branch . The audience of 35 people comprised of staff from front desk, nurses. The session was held on August 25, 2023 in their meeting room. Ms. Arshiya Fathima H was the speaker of the day.
The session began with a video depicting the value of a Gift of Life and was followed by a talk on Concepts of Organ Donation. Ms. Arshiya explained the work of MOHAN Foundation and continued with making the audience understand the need for Organ Donation. She spoke of who can become donors and which organs can be donated. She asked them about the myths in society about organ donation. She explained brain death, and the difference between brain death and coma. She spoke of tissue and voluntary body donation. She also gave information on the free service of Organ Donation Helpline 1800 103 7100. At the end she explained how to register as a donor and take a donor card. Ms. Arshiya played an educational video on brain death.
She explained about Transplant Coordinator and Ambassador courses offered by MOHAN Foundation, its structure, value and fee structure.
