On 5th November 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Apollo Security Services for conducting an awareness talk about Organ Donation for security guards at their mock drill camp organized by Mr. Ajay Sawant the incharge of Security Services of Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai.Mr. Ranjit introduced MOHAN Foundation as an NGO working passionately for deceased organ donation. Ms. Prarthana thereafter took the dais and explained that MOHAN Foundation is an acronym for “Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network”. She shared its mission and objectives and then started explaining about what organ donation is, when, who, why and how it can be done. She also explained the THOA act 2011 related to organ Donation. She then explained about Brain Steam Death, how to diagnose and certify and who is authorized to certify. She also briefed about Skin donation, Eye donation, Organ donation and Body donation. She also explained about the religious barrier and myths related to organ donation. About 16 Security guards attended the session and were distributed information brochures. Questions such as what is coma and how it is different from brain death were asked, Ms. Prarthana answered all their queries promptly. About 10 members took Pledge.We thank Mr. Ajay Sawant for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
