Awareness session for Students at Orange City Convent School & College, Narkhed conducted on Republic Day

  • On 26th January 2021 on the occasion of Republic Day, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for students at Orange City Convent School & College, Narkhed.

    They also arranged Meditation workshop by Dr Varsha Perke   along with Organ Donation Session for students under the coordination of Mrs Qazi (Principal of Orange City Convent School & College). Ms Prarthana was invited to host flag of India followed by singing national anthem before starting of the session.

    Ms Prarthana introduced MOHAN Foundation and Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation along with their philanthropy. She explained the concepts of organ Donation, why and when transplantation is required, various organs that can be donated, types of donors, types of death, and viability of organs after retrieval. She also explained the difference between Brain death and Cardiac Death. She also elaborated the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, and discussed about the myths and misconceptions related to organ donation. She also briefed about Skin donation, Eye donation, Organ donation and Body donation.

    Students asked the following were a few questions asked:

    • Uses of Tissue donation?
    • In suicide case (MLC), Can we donate their organ?

    Ms Prarthana answered all the queries promptly. The session was attended by 78 students & teachers. We thank Mrs Qazi for inviting us for conducting session on Organ Donation and for supporting the cause of organ donation.
