On 10th March 2022 Aam Admi Party and Mr. Bulu from MOHAN Foundation conducted door to door campaign on creating awareness about organ donation at Rahi Estate society, Jaitala area, Nagpur.
Mr. Devendra Parihar a candidate from Municipal Corporation of Rahi Estate community invited Mr. Bulu Behera to organize a stall and create awareness about organ donation to the residents of Rahi Estate society.
Mr. Bulu Behera organized a stall with MOHAN Foundation’s donor cards, broachers, pledge form, standee and banners. He then introduced himself to the gathering and spoke about MOHAN Foundation and its activities. It was an interactive session; the audience actively participated in the session.
The below contents were discussed with the audience
1. Concept of organ donation.
2. Who can donate?
3. Age limit to donate organs
4. Information about donor card was shared with the participants.
5. Concept of Brain death and Circulatory death was explained.
6. MOHAN Foundation’s helpline number was shared with the audience.
7. THO Act was explained.
8. Information about ROTTO-SOTTO, ZTCC and NOTTO was shared with the participants.
Questions asked during the session:
1. Which are the organs that can be donate by a living donor?
2. After a person’s death, how will his/her family members know that he/she has pledged her/ his organs?
Members who attended the session thanked Mr. Bulu for explaining them about the concepts of organ donation, around 30 residents of the society visited the stall and 15 of them pledged their organs through pledge forms.
