On July 19, 2024 the student members of Eco Club of Our Lady School, Chetpet were treated to sessions on Health and Wellbeing. This event was organized by ARUWYE, an NGO and consisted of two sessions, Organ health and donation and the importance of consuming organic food. This mainly focused on the saying “Unave Marundhu” which means food itself is medicine
The event commenced with a welcome speech by Sr. Mary Josephine Isabella, Director – ARUWYE who welcomed the students and introduced the speakers. Mr. Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation spoke about health and wellbeing, organ donation and transplantation. He spoke about keeping organs healthy, what can be done when health deteriorates and options of donation and transplantation. This paved the way to eating healthy food to maintain good health. Mr. Gokul from Streetlights spoke about setting up an organic kitchen garden at zero cost zero waste.
Post the talk the students were given a demonstration on soil curing, creating compost and setting up plants in the right spot. 62 students and staff participated. MOHAN Foundation thanks ARUWYE and Auxilium Management for this opportunity.
