On 5th May 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Rakesh Tiwari (Manager) of Autovista Company to conduct an awareness session on organ donation.
Autovista Company was established in the year 2014, Excell Autovista Pvt Ltd (Workshop) in Taloja, Mumbai is a top player in the category Car Repair & Services in Mumbai.
Mrs. Jigisha Yadav (Social Worker from MOHAN Foundation) started the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, she explained that MOHAN is not a name of a person; it’s an acronym for “Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network.” Then she shared its mission, vision and philanthropy. The concept of organ donation was then introduced in detail with explanations about the types of death viz. circulatory & brain death.
Ms. Indumati Thakker explained the current statistics of India and the need of the hour. She also explained that one should first start with blood donation then discuss organ donation with their families, as they are the ones who will make the decision after death. And information about organ allocation was also shared.
About 50 staff attended the session and were distributed informative brochures. Many questions were asked such as - what is the difference between organ donation and body donation.
