Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering, Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai

  • On February 21, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk on organ donation at Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering, Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi was the chief guest and speaker for the session. She introduced MOHAN Foundation and provided an insightful overview of organ donation and transplantation. The session covered key topics, including types of organ donation, the process of registering as an organ donor, and the concept of brain death and circulatory death. She also emphasized the importance of carrying a donor card and encouraged participants to pledge their organs.

    The students were introduced to the national organ donation helpline (1800 103 7100) for further assistance. The session was interactive, with students asking various questions, including:

    • The difference between cardiac death and natural death
    • The procedure for hand transplants

    Ms. Prarthana addressed all queries with clarity and provided detailed explanations. Around 142 students attended the session, actively participating in the discussion.
