  • On March 7, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an impactful organ donation awareness session for the students and faculty of the Pharmacy Department at Gahlot College of Pharmacy, Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai.

The session was organized as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations and aimed to educate participants about the significance of organ and tissue donation. Alongside this, Apollo Hospital arranged a special talk on women’s health, addressing key health concerns and promoting overall well-being.

Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi led the organ donation awareness session, explaining the process, eligibility criteria, and the life-saving potential of organ donation. She also discussed the difference between organ and tissue donation, the concept of brain death, and the importance of timely transplantation.

A total of 134 students and faculty members attended the session, actively engaging in discussions and asking insightful questions such as:

    1. Can a person with diabetes donate their organs and tissues?
    2. What is the time interval for transporting a heart during a transplant?

The session successfully dispelled myths and encouraged attendees to consider pledging for organ donation. By the end of the session, 22 participants took the pledge to become organ donors, reflecting their commitment to this noble cause.

MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the college management for their support in organizing this meaningful event.
