On June 28, 2024, Team MOHAN Foundation hosted a comprehensive awareness session at Dhiraj Nursing College for 3rd-year students. The primary objective of this session was to deepen the students' understanding of organ donation and highlight the pivotal role NGOs play in effectively communicating this message to the general population. The session tackled various prevalent myths about organ donation and provided detailed explanations of brain stem death, clarifying how it differs from a coma. Additionally, it offered an overview of the legal frameworks and state government guidelines that govern organ donation. Key topics discussed included the eligibility criteria for organ donors, the types of organs and tissues that can be donated, and the overall donation process. The session was interactive and concluded with a dynamic question-and-answer segment, where the 103 attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on various aspects of organ donation, ensuring they left with a well-rounded understanding of the subject.
