On January 26, 2025, in celebration of Republic Day, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk on organ donation at Bhagvati Bay Bliss in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai. The session commenced around 10:30 AM, following a flag hoisting ceremony led by Ms. Prarthana from MOHAN Foundation, who served as the chief guest. A health check-up camp was also organized alongside the organ donation session.
Ms. Prarthana began by introducing MOHAN Foundation and conducted a brief ice-breaker to assess the audience's familiarity with organ donation. Noting that the audience consisted mainly of non-medical individuals with limited knowledge on the subject, she proceeded to explain key concepts, including the necessity and timing of transplantation, the various organs that can be donated, types of donors, types of death, and the viability of organs after retrieval. She also clarified the difference between brain death and cardiac death, elaborated on the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, and addressed common myths and misconceptions related to organ donation. Additionally, information was provided on skin donation, eye donation, and body donation.
