

On 30th January 2017, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program for the nursing college students of Vinayaka Mission, Pondicherry. 60 final year students of nursing participated in the program. Since the students are in the final year and would be joining in the nursing duty it was apt, it was apt that they become aware about organ donation.
The sessions began with the video on organ donation, after it a brief session on organ donation and its importance of it was explained to the students. It was interactive sessions were the students were made to answer. The session also explained the importance of life after death and how it helps many patients with end stage organ failure. The difference between the cardiac and brain death and difference between coma and irreversible coma were explained.
The session ended with the course details on transplant coordinator program for the nursing students, after the session all the students pledged the donor card and showed their support for organ donation.
