Angels of Change Training for Nursing Students

  • The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Chennai Chapter invited MOHAN Foundation to train their nursing students for an Angels of Change Training.   This training provides the students with basic knowledge on tissue and organ donation as well on organ donation. Skills like  meeting strangers to conduct a survey, developing social media campaigns and creating poems  and posters  help the student to gain confidence to conduct awareness sessions on their own. This one day training was conducted on  December 17, 2024 in their premises at Egmore, Chennai. 

     

    The training comprised of the following 

    Concepts of Organ Donation  - Mrs Arshiya Fathima

    Understanding Brain Death - Video by Dr Sandeep vanish 

    Kidney - Anatomy, Function, Failure and Treatment  - Dr Rajeeva Parthasarathy

    Interaction with Recipients - Mrs Deepa

    Activities to  build skills to  create awareness to organ donation  - Mr Ganesh, Ms Yamini and Mrs Arshia 

    Gratitude letter - Dr Hemal Kanvinde 

    Understanding loss - Dr Hemal Kanvinde 

    How to create awareness - Dr Hemal Kanvinde 

     

    28 students participated in the training with great interest and enthusiasm. They were deeply  touched by Mrs Deepa’s story and welcomed the training provided by Dr Rajeeva. 

    Mohan Foundation thanks all the facets for their time and sharing their knowledge. 

    MOHAN Foundation also thanks Mr Thomas V John, Tutor Ms Nesa Pushpam, and Ms Kadhija for this opportunity to train the students as Angels of Change.
