An Awareness Talk organized by MOHAN Foundation at CIPET, Mysore

  • Mr. Ulagiyan Bala B, the Deputy General Manager Bengaluru Regional Office SIDBI, approached MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for the CIPET (Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology) students and staff on 09th August, 2024 at 11am in Mysore.

    MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS the Project manager and Mr. Surya Prakash the program coordinator

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision then she explained the concept of organ and tissue donation, she discussed about the types of death i.e., cardiac death and brain death, she then discussed in detail about brain death declaration and the procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation. Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS elaborated the procedure of eye, skin and bone donation and also explained about the barriers of organ donation i.e., the myths and facts related to organ donation and how it impacts on organ donation. She lightly gave a slight touch on green corridor as well, briefly explained the role of Jeevasarthakathe and also touched upon the prevailing laws and the importance of a donor card. Towards the end of the session also gave them the glimpse about the hand transplant done successfully for Shreya Siddana Gowda and also played a motivational video.

    Postermaking activity was conducted among the students in group wise.

    All 65 members took the donor cards and signed up for organ donation and supported the cause.
