Ms Kamayani had an engrossing and interactive session which began with the perception around organ donation and their knowledge. Students were explained about the difference between Brain death & Coma  and Organ donation and its benefits for human society. The students were made aware of the Law around Organ Donation and various penalties for buying and selling of organs and conditions around the world on organ donation. She shared the truths behind the myths related to Organ Donation. Ms.  Kamayani showed videos where families shared the reasons behind donating the organs of their loved ones.

Consequently, she interacted with students and cleared their doubts. After the lecture, 50 students expressed their desire to pledge for Organ Donation and others said that they would talk to their parents regarding Organ Donation.  Peppered with humour, Ms Kamayani gave real life examples to students, on the futility of funerals and that by donating organs we were saving lives of 8 persons, and by not donating we were denying life to 8 people.

The fact that family members need to be convinced about organ donation came to fore. All students were asked to download the app and given the toll free number for any further queries.

The issue about what religion says about organ donation in Hinduism and Sikhism was discussed at length as well. She showed very informative videos on how all religion talk about organ donation and none ban it.

Ms Kamayani, informed the students about the inclusion f choice or being an organ donor in the Driving License.  So the Card can have your blood group as well as your Organ Donor Status. Unfortunately all students above 18 who had license were never asked about it, but automatically a NO had been put up on License, The students promised to take up the cause  with the State Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Health Minister  of Punjab.
