An awareness program on understanding of Organ Donation was organized on March 6th, 2023 for the B.Ed. Students and teaching faculty of Merit College of Education Idaikal (Tirunelveli District). 50 students and 5 teaching staff attended the talk.
Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi M (MMM College of Health Sciences- Intern) of MOHAN Foundation was the resource person. She introduced MOHAN Foundation and herself before the session. She discussed the importance of organ donation and the ideas of organ donation. She described the difference between brain death and coma. She expanded on organ donation myths and facts, as well as the service of a toll-free Organ Donation Helpline 1800 103 7100. The students made a commitment to inform those around them after fully recognizing the value of the awareness session.
A brief Q&A session followed the presentation. MOHAN Foundation would like to thank Ms. Sundari, Staff of the college for this fantastic opportunity. 15 students picked up a donor and pledged to be an organ donor.
