"On 23rd September 2023, AMM School organised a Family Walkathon-6 in honour of World Elders day. As part of the event, MOHAN Foundation was invited to set up an information desk on organ donation. Ms Arshiya Fathima H took charge the desk and provided information to the attendees.
The information desk was equipped with standee, brochures, placards, registration forms and donor cards. Around 100 staff members, parents along with their children visited the desk throughout the event. Ms. Arshiya shared important information about the need of organ donation, who can donate, when can we donate and the processes involved. She also explained brain death and circulatory was explained in detail. She spoke of the misconceptions about the noble cause in the community.
She highlighted the importance of the service of a helpline and encouraged the visitors to pledge and support the cause. As a result, 18 people signed as organ donors and picked a donor card.
We extend our gratitude to the school’s Principal Ms Mahalakshmi and Ms. Preeti for inviting us and giving us an opportunity to set up an information desk on organ donation.
