17th Annual Conference of NATCO- Day 1

  • Inaugural Ceremony: The conference commenced with a formal opening ceremony. Distinguished speakers, including Dr. Rakesh Joshi, Dr. Sunil Shroff, and Mrs. Pallavi Kumar, addressed the attendees. Dr. Shroff's speech was particularly noteworthy, as he advocated for the permanent establishment of NTORCs (National Transplant Organ Retrieval Centers) in all hospitals, similar to the NABH accreditation system. He also emphasized the need for indemnity insurance for transplant coordinators, akin to the coverage provided to doctors. Additionally, Dr. Shroff encouraged attendees to pursue two-week fellowship programs overseas to enhance their professional development.Patient Care Post-Transplants: Subsequent sessions delved into advancements in post-transplant patient care, underscoring the significance of ongoing support. NGO Presentations: A diverse array of NGOs showcased their experiences and challenges in the field of organ donation. MFJCF, represented by Mrs. Bhavna Jagwani, delivered a compelling presentation highlighting the organization's accomplishments.

     

    Swamy Narayan Best Transplant Coordinator Award: Several nominations were received for this prestigious award, and participants presented their contributions to the field of organ donation. Mrs. Bhavna Jagwani, the convener of MFJCF, served as one of the three judges for the award.

     

    Free Paper/Poster Presentations: Attendees had the opportunity to share their research findings through poster presentations, fostering intellectual exchange and collaboration. Dr. Anushree Nair, the Project Director of MFJCF, presented a poster on donor rehabilitation, advocating for compassionate support and recognition.

    Film Screening: The screening of the film "Screaming: God's Vulture and Human" evoked a strong emotional response from the audience, as it explored the ethical and emotional dimensions of organ transplantation.

    Annual General Meeting: The day concluded with the annual general meeting of NATCO.
