  • Mrs. Chitralekha   - 45 Years

"Marriage is sharing life with your best friend, enjoying the journey along the way and arriving at every destination together." - This quote reminds us Mr. & Mrs. Thangavelu.

More than 30 years of my life, I shared with her, and not even a single day she has left me alone said Mr. Thangavelu with his eyes filled with tears. He was talking of Mrs. Chitralekha Thangavelu his wife in her mid 50s. The couple started their life together in 1980s. She was a loving mother, caring wife and head of the family. The couple brought up their children in a good way, where the elder one is a professor and the younger one is studying engineering. The family said "She was the backbone of our family; she always stood firm yet loving through our ups and downs".

On the evening of 25th November 2014, Mrs. Chitralekha went for a walk near to her house, while walking on the pedestrian crossing she was hit by a two wheeler. The two wheeler rider was using a mobile phone, unknowingly he hit her. She fainted on the spot and she was brought to Neyveli government hospital for treatment.

The family hoped that she will come back. But unfortunately on 28th November Chitralekha was declared as brain dead by the doctors. In their grief this family took a brave decision of donating her organs. Chitralekha left this world by giving life to six (Kidneys, Corneas, Liver and Heart) different people.
